Apple Sued Again For Stealing Dual-Camera Technology!
Well, if we look back, we will find that Apple has a reputation for getting involved in various lawsuits. Back in 2017, the tech giant Apple was sued by an Israeli-based camera technology company Corephotonics. The company had sued apple in 2017 for the dual-camera tech seen in the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus. Now the Israeli-based company, of course, Corephotonics has once again filed a new lawsuit claiming that Apple stole around 10 of Corephotonic’s patents for its dual-camera tech. The dual-camera tech is seen on iPhone 7 Plus, the iPhone 8 Plus, the iPhone X, the iPhone XS, and the iPhone XS Max. The new lawsuit claims that Corephotonics also reached out Apple to discuss the dual-camera technology and a possible licensing agreement, but there was no success. Apple allegedly stoled the camera tech and presented its own version in iPhones. Well, back in 2015, Apple acquired another Israeli company named LinX. For those who don’t know, LinX is also a camera technology company. So, such acquisition also hints that Apple could have used camera technology of LinX in its iPhone. It’s also worth to note that Samsung acquired Corephotonics in a deal that’s worth $155 million. However, Samsung never released any official statement regarding the acquisition. Right now, Corephotonics is demanding an amount to be decided in the jury trial. The lawsuit also seeks damages and permanent injunction against further sales and court fees in its current case.
